You will play a central role in architecting and delivering scalable solutions for our business areas leveraging our enterprise data lake and data science platforms on AWS. You will also provide technical expertise and guidance for the components that makes up our data lake and data science ecosystem which has been built on various AWS services, such as S3, Redshift, DynamoDB, SageMaker, Glue and Lambda.
You’ll be a founding member of a cross-department team of specialists deployed on high level, complex use cases that precede infrastructure rollout across our platforms. You will take the role of developer, tester, tech writer, integration and deployment specialist. You will also act as trusted technical advisor on one or more projects within Data Management & Analytics for our business partners as well as your colleagues in the team. In collaboration with your colleagues, you will be responsible for leading and defining the end-to-end architecture of solutions, and you will be involved in the maturation of the platform.
This newly created position suits the cloud developer that loves data engineering, the DevOps specialist that loves automation.
You have a degree in engineering, software development or a relevant field and you have:
- 5+ years’ experience working with contemporary cloud technologies, DevOps processes, and infrastructure engineering, including the integration of data lake solutions and advanced analytics
- a background from roles in architecting and consulting
- experience creating and implementing scalable data solutions on an enterprise scale; this means that you can design, construct, install, test and scale data management solutions.
- hands-on experience deploying with CI/CD and working with modern build, test and deployment tools.
- experience designing cloud solutions on AWS
- worked with and understand infrastructure automation and infrastructure as code
Finally, you are used to being in a position that combines a high-level overview with an ability to dig into the details to provide the best possible technical advice. Furthermore, you have experience working within a regulated industry or are eager to learn what that entails as complexity is a motivating factor for you.

The position is based at our site in Bagsværd, which is in greater Copenhagen, Denmark. We are recruiting internationally for this position; a relocation package will be provided where relevant. Since you will be working in a global environment, you must expect some meetings to take place outside Danish working hours and some travel activity. Fluent spoken and written English is a prerequisite.
About the department
You will join our team of architects, developers, analysts and data engineers. The Data Management & Analytics team is an international, high performing team with a variety of technical and analytical backgrounds. Our responsibilities cover the entire data space from source systems to productionised analytical solutions, including the underlying infrastructure.
We are cloud native and we work primarily on Amazon Web Services (AWS). We evangelise the opportunity to apply data and advanced analytics, initiating analytical initiatives and supporting data science users of our platform. We have built and are operating the enterprise data lake and data science platform on AWS to support our vision, which is to be able to deliver world class management of data. All kinds of data. The overarching goal is to use data to gain new understandings and insights, drive optimisations and create true value to Novo Nordisk and the patients we serve.
We are currently 40 internal and external employees in three different locations in India, USA and Denmark. We are growing fast, having doubled the number of people in the team within the past year.
